This dinner is just too easy and my kids love it. Way better than buying pizza from any takeout shop! Pick up some premade pizza dough at your local bakery (we love the dough from Stong’s and it’s only $3!) and a couple ingredients and you have a pizza dinner that everyone loves. My littles also love stretching the dough and adding their own personalized toppings. We use a lower fat cheese as the pesto already has enough healthy fats.


  • 1 premade dough

  • 2 tbsp pesto

  • Lower fat mozzarella cheese (18% M.F or milk fat), shredded

  • 2-3 tbsp shredded parmesan cheese


  1. Preheat oven to 425 °C

  2. Add a small amount of olive oil to a paper towel and lightly oil a pizza pan

  3. Hand stretch the dough and don’t add any additional flour (to avoid the mess)

  4. Top with pesto and cheese

  5. Bake about 10 minutes
